The Peachtree NORML Foundation was established in 2015 as a charitable organization with goals to better educate the public about all the effects of marijuana – physical, scientific, legal and legislative, and to assist victims of the criminal justice system. The Peachtree NORML Foundation met the requirements under the Internal Revenue Service Code 501(c)(3) as a qualified tax-exempt organization and donations to the foundation are tax-deductible. Headquartered in Dahlonega, Georgia, the Peachtree NORML Foundation is headed by Tom McCain, the Executive Director and staffed by volunteers from around the state and nation.
The Peachtree NORML Foundation sponsors advertising of public education campaigns designed to inform the public about the costs of marijuana prohibition on society and the benefits of alternative drug policies; distributes a weekly press release to the media and citizen activists focusing on recent developments pertaining to marijuana research and policy; publishes a regular newsletter; provides legal assistance and support to victims of the current marijuana laws.
