Rally for Justice for David Hooks

June 15th, 2015 marks the 800th Anniversary of the signing of Magna Carta, one of the primary documents used by our Founding Fathers as the basis for our Constitution and Bill of Rights. What better date to exercise our rights to Assemble, Speak Freely and Petition the Courts?

Spartacus Legal Foundation, in conjunction with The Laurens County Southern Christian Leadership Conference and Concerned Citizens of Laurens County, will hold a Rally in support of Justice for David Hooks, at 12:00 noon on that auspicious date.

Speakers include Elder Charles Sumblin, a decorated Vietnam Veteran and long-time Civil Rights Advocate; Paul Nally, former Police Chief and Judge; Derrick Grayson, Candidate for U.S. Senate and staunch Civil Rights supporter; and Catherine Bernard, Georgia Criminal Defense Attorney, Candidate for the Georgia House of Representatives, District 80 and Founder of Spartacus Legal Foundation.

At the conclusion of the Rally this assemblage will file a petition with the Laurens County Clerk of Courts, directed to the Foreperson of the currently seated Grand Jury, pleading that the death of David Hooks be investigated as a Felony Murder.

The case is scheduled to be presented to the Grand Jury by Special Prosecutor Chuck Spahos on June 18th, 2015, and while we have faith in Mr. Spahos, we have MORE faith in the local Grand Jury to exercise ALL the powers granted them by law to investigate this case.
